Thank You Prettier Plaques Stenciled Cookie

I’m back this week with another of my Prettier Plaques stenciled cookies using what I think is my new all-time favorite stencil set – “Thank You”! In addition to showing you how to use this set, I demonstrate the concept of “conscious color commingling”. (LOL, say that three times fast!) By this, I mean purposeful overspraying beyond stencil boundaries to encourage the blending of neighboring colors. Overspray creates unexpected shades where colors overlap, especially when using water-based colorings, and results in a more natural and nuanced look, particularly in stencils with organic designs. I also show how to extend this concept onto wafer paper to make dainty butterfly embellishments for use on cookies, cupcakes, and even cakes!
