About this item

The Gyro-Cut craft and hobby tool easily cuts through our 4 mil Cut-your-own cookie stencil sheets and when used with plastic cling wrap, will cleverly create a mask to use when trying to isolate different areas of the cookie stencils (see video below).

 

This ergonomically designed hand-tool has a 360 degree rotating head which enables anyone to cut complex shapes easily and quickly. Unlike scalpel style knives the GYRO-CUT® blade will not easily cut the skin in normal use. Recommended to use with our Self-healing Cutting Mats, Wilton Dab-N-Hold Edible Adhesive, and 4 mil blank Mylar sheets.

it takes a minute getting use to it. Ibwas hoping for a smoother cut.

It can take some practice to guide the rotating blade, and hand-cut stencils won’t have quite the same precision as laser-cut ones. One tip is to keep the blade perpendicular to the material as you cut. We also have a step-by-step Gyro-Cut tutorial that may help. If you’d like to tell us what material you’re cutting or where you’re running into trouble, please reach out—we’d be happy to help.

I have not yet mastered the use of the tool. It seems awkward to me. I will keep practicing but I am more confident using an exacti knife.
