Many people would panic, but we have you covered! You don't need an enormous gesture to make your beloved happy, and here, we will walk you through a simple and fast Valentine's Day cookie recipe that is tasty and pretty.
What You Will Need
- Cookie dough - we like sugar dough cookies for these!
- White Royal icing - you'll need enough to flood you cookies, and some to pipe designs on your decorated cookies.
- Piping bags
- DecoPac Gel colors in red and pink
- Freeze-dried strawberry powder (optional)
- Heart-shaped cookie cutters.
- Piping bag with a thin tip.
- Edible marker (optional).
How To Make The Cookies
Step 1- Roll the dough and use the cookie cutters to cut the hearts. Bake as instructed. If you want your cookies to have a pink hue, you can add some freeze-dried strawberry powder.

Step 2- Colors are important, so pick a color scheme for your cookies. Red, pink, white, yellow, or even red and black will work. Divide the royal icing into bowls and color it with the gel colors of your choice.

Step 3- When the cookies have cooled, flood them. Be sure to use your base icing color here, and allow it to dry before adding to it.

Step 4- Try line work. For this, you will need to use some pre-colored icing and pipe vertical, squiggly, or even cross-hatch lines. Try to use different colors to fill the cookie.

Step 5- For the cookies that have been left plain, it is worth playing around with sectioning. Use an edible marker to draw different sections on the cookie, and then, using the piping bags, flood each section with a different color. Make sure you allow the first sections to dry before applying the icing to the area next to it! This will prevent bleeding.
