Spooky Chocolate-Covered Oreo Ideas for Halloween!

Everyone loves Halloween...and Oreos! If you want to get creative in the spooky season, this recipe is for you!  Here, we will walk you through 3 ideas for chocolate-covered Oreos, which are fun to make and tasty to eat.

What You Will Need

How To Make The Spooky Chocolate Covered Oreos.

This is only a loose guide, and, as is the way with Halloween, you can choose any color combinations that you want. For this, we will be talking about green, orange, and white as primary Halloween colors!

Step 1 – Melt the white chocolate candy melts. Leave some unmelted for extra decoration later on!

Step 2 – Separate the melted candy into 3 separate bowls.

Step 3 – Take the Oreo mold and fill with the candy melts from the bowl of white candy. Fill as many cavities as you want in this shade halfway. Then, add the Oreos. Fill the rest of the cavity with candy melts so the Oreo is covered.

Step 4 – Add the powdered orange food coloring to the 2nd bowl and the green to the other bowl. After each addition, mix it into the chocolate. Add less powdered food coloring for lighter shades, and add more for deeper shades.

Step 5 – Repeat step 3 for the green melted candy and the orange.

Step 6 – Place the Oreo mold in the fridge. Wait until the candy melts have hardened. This will usually take between 15- 20 minutes.

Step 7 – While these are chilling, fill the piping bags with any remaining colored chocolate melts. Make some black candy melts now for extra decoration.

Step 8 – At this point, your cookies should be ready to take out of the fridge. Gently tap the underside of the Oreo mold to release the covered cookies.

Step 9 Begin decorating the cookies! You can take inspiration from us and use one of our fun Halloween round cookie stencils!

Tips:

  • For the orange cookies, we made a Jack-o-Lantern using the black chocolate melt.
  • For the green, we used orange and black icing in a splatter pattern and placed edible eyes on top.
  • For the white, we added some eyes, made by dabbing the orange icing, and then a dot of black for the pupil.
