How To Make Marshmallow Paint
Marshmallow paint is quick and easy to make; just make sure you follow the storage instructions to ensure it lasts afterward!
- Place the marshmallows in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave them for 30 seconds.
- Add water to the marshmallows and stir them (they should have melted by this point!). Place the bowl back into the microwave for around 30 seconds. Take it out and stir it again. Note that if you still have lumps of marshmallows, you should heat the mixture for about 15 seconds until they have melted.
- When it is all melted down, stir in the corn syrup. This will create a smooth texture.
- Divide the melted marshmallows into separate bowls. Add a drop of food coloring to the bowls and stir. When you are happy with the color, use the mini paintbrushes to paint your cookies.
- The marshmallow paint will only stay sticky for a few days, so use it as soon as possible. If you need to store it away, use an air-tight container.
Safety Note- Always use oven gloves or a dishcloth when melting marshmallows. Do not let children handle melted marshmallows, as this can cause burns.
